Táto štruktúra sa zvyčajne vyskytuje v troch tvaroch:

Kladný tvar

They would like to work /pizza

Záporný tvar

Use

Would like používame, keď chceme vyjadriť to, čo slovesom want, ale zdvorilejším spôsobom, najmä keď niečo ponúkame či o niečo žiadame.

Summary

Would like používame, keď chceme vyjadriť svoje požiadavky alebo ponuky zdvorilejší formou, ktorá je miernejší ako u slovesa want.

Môžeme ho použiť v jeho rôznych tvaroch:

  • Kladný tvar: Začíname podmetom, po ktorom nasleduje would like a sloveso v infinitíve alebo podstatné meno.
  • Záporný tvar: Začíname podmetom, po ktorom nasleduje would not like a sloveso v infinitíve alebo podstatné meno.
  • Opytovací tvar: Začíname would, po ktorom nasleduje podmet, po ktorom nasleduje sloveso like a sloveso v infinitíve alebo podstatné meno (veta je ukončená otáznikom).

Napríklad:
— Kladný tvar: „I would like a cup of tea.“
— Záporný tvar: „I wouldn’t like a cup of tea.“
— Opytovací tvar: „Would you like a cup of tea?

POZNÁMKA: Like má iný význam než would like: like používame keď chceme vyjadriť, že máme niečo radi.

Napríklad:
— „would like to do some sport.“ = Použijeme would like na vyjadrenie želania podmetu si zašportovať.
♦ „I like sport.“ = Použijeme like na vyjadrenie toho, že podmet má všeobecne rád šport.
