Introduction
Ambos should y ought to pertenecen al mismo grupo de verbos modales [modal verbs] auxiliares que no tienen significado solos pero modifican el verbo principal, cambia su significado y dan más detalles de la acción.
Se utiliza should y ought to para expresar obligación y deber a través de consejos o recomendaciónes.
Form
El infinitivo del verbo siempre sigue should y ought to. Tienen las mismas formas incluso para la tercera persona del singular.
Formas afirmativas:
- Should: Subject + should + infinitive + …
- Ought to: Subject + ought to + infinitive + …
Formas negativas:
- Should: Subject + should + not + infinitive + …
- Ought to: Subject + ought + not + to + infinitive + …
Formas interrogativas:
- Should: Should + subject + infinitive + …?
- Ought to: Ought + subject + to + infinitive + …?

Use
Ambos verbos modales tienen un significado muy similar y uno puede reemplazar al otro. Se pueden considerar como menos fuerte que must.
