Introduction
There is/are adalah ekspresi yang digunakan dalam kalimat untuk mengonfirmasikan, membantah atau mengecek apabila sesuatu ada.
Form
There is/are memiliki subjek setelah kata kerja dan umumnya kita menemukan mereka dalam tiga bentuk:
Afirmatif
Kata benda tunggal: There is + singular noun/uncountable noun + …
Kata benda jamak: There are + plural noun + …
Negatif
Kata benda tunggal: There is + not + singular noun/uncountable noun + …
Kata benda jamak: There are + not + plural noun + …
Bentuk singkat untuk format negatif adalah: there isn’t/aren’t (bentuk yang sama dengan to be).
Bentuk negatif yang paling umum digunakan adalah there are no/there aren’t atau there are not any/there aren’t any.
Interogatif
Kata benda tunggal: Is there + singular noun/uncountable noun + …?
