Lifelong Learning Community
Lifelong Learning provides opportunities for enrichment and discovery through a community of learners and instructors. A true Unit/Credit System for modern languages learning by adults.
Learning today happens anywhere and everywhere and in a variety of environments. We can no longer think of it as happening in classrooms and to young age. Everyone at every stage of their life should have learning opportunities to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to fulfill their aspirations and contribute to societies. As My Language Skills, we strongly support the idea of lifelong learning and that is why we strive to fulfil this purpose by means of language.
Our modular approach (true Unit/Credit system) based on Learning Objects and Integrated Foreign Language Curriculum facilitates switching courses, teachers, even groups or places by students. It is always easy to identify the level of language competence and continue from there even if the circumstances have changed. Even if the students stop their learning, they can easily continue in the future starting from the point they left without getting afraid of being lost in the content.
A unit/credit system serves to break down the global concept of language into units (CEFR) and sub-units (Our 25 units of each course). It is organized with a progression from an elementary to an advance competence which is necessarily imposed to some extent upon all learners. Choices are also possible between different directions of knowledge and skills according to the specific needs of the learner. Within the unit/credit system progression is to be dealt with by the establishment of certificates and diplomas at different levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) and now possible at sublevels (A1.1, A1.2). Different directions that the course can take are dealt with by the permitted choices between components at the same level.
