Introduction
The letter t is pronounced differently depending the letters following it in the word.
Form
The representation of t is:

Example

- ten;
- top;
- try.
- /ʃ/:
- education;
- question;
- rational.
- /tʃ/:
- culture;

- silent:
- Christmas;
- fasten;
- whistle.
Use
–T is pronounced as /t/ commonly
–T is pronounced as /ʃ/: when t precedes -ion.
- Exception: equation – which is pronounced as /ʒ/
–T is pronounced as /tʃ/: when t precedes –ure, creating therefore a long u sound.
–T is silent:
- Endings as -sten, -ften, -stle;
- If t is between two other consonant sounds – it becomes silent because requires a lot of effort to pronounce the letter,
