Introduction
How many is used to ask questions about the quantity of a countable noun.
How much is used to ask questions about the quantity of an uncountable noun.

Form
When asking how many? we always use the plural of the noun in the question.
How many + countable noun + …?
When asking how much? we always use the singular of the noun in the question.
How much + uncountable noun + …?
Example
- How many?
- How many apples do you have?
- How many brothers does she have?
- How many cars are there?
- How much?
- How much water do you want?
- How much money do I need for the holidays?
- How much time will it take?
Use
We use how many? with countable nouns to find out the amount or quantity of an object.
We use how much? with uncountable nouns to find out the measure of an object.
