Introduction
The present indicative [presente de indicativo] is a verb tense that expresses actions that occur at the moment of speaking, general things, habitual actions, and future actions.
The verb ser is an irregular verb used to identify things and places in a permanent state.
Form
The verb ser is an irregular verb and is not conjugated according to its infinitive ending.
The verb ser in the present indicative is conjugated as follows:

NOTE: When the verb is used with demonstrative pronouns (Este, ese, aquel…), it is placed after them.
Example
- Yo soy Javier, el bombero;
- Tú eres alta y simpática;
- Este es un normalmente un restaurante francés;
- Nosotros somos siempre los jugadores amarillos;
- Vosotras sois estas dos morenas de la foto;
- ¿Qué hora es? → Son las cuatro y media.
Use
The verb ser is used to:
- identify (without an adjective);
- to describe the character and the physique of a person;
- to express nationalities, origins, professions, or ideology;
- talk about colours and materials;
- identify nouns with pronouns;
- to ask for the date and time (temporal location).
