Introduction

To be used to — это структура, которая используется, чтобы говорить об известных привычках и обычаях.

В утвердительной [affirmative] форме глагольная структура подтверждает, что субъект имеет некоторый обычай.

Form

To be used to в утвердительной форме имеет следующую формулу:
Subject + to be + used to + [verb + -ing]/pronoun/noun phrase  + …

  • Краткие формы утвердительной формы схожи с краткой формой to be: I’m – you’re – he’s…
Subject To Be used to Verb + -ing
I am used to working
You are used to working
He/She/It is used to working
We/You/They are used to working

Example

  • They‘re used to working in a big, modern city.
  • I have had long hair since I was a child so I‘m used to it now.
  • He is used to the noise of the shower.

Use

Формула to be used to в утвердительной форме подтверждает известные или привычные для кого-то действия или предметы.

Summary

To be used to в утвердительной [affirmative] форме подтверждает привычки и обычаи.Используемая формула:
Subject + to be + used to + [verb + -ing]/pronoun/noun phrase  + …Например:
— “You are used to having breakfast early in the morning.” = Breakfast является привычкой субъекта.
ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ: Не путать с to use to, которое применимо только в предложениях прошедшего времени.

Например:
— “You are used to have breakfast early in the morning.” = Используем to be used to, чтобы отобразить действие, которое привычно для субъекта в данный момент.
♦ “You used to have breakfast early in the morning.“= Используем to use to, чтобы отобразить действие, которое произошло в прошлом и больше не происходит.
