Introduction
To be used to è una struttura usata per parlare di abitudini e costumi a noi familiari.
Espresso in forma affermativa, il verbo conferma le abitudini del soggetto.
Form
To be used to, nella forma affirmative, ha la seguente struttura:
Subject + to be + used to + [verb + -ing]/pronoun/noun phrase + …
- Le forme brevi della forma affermativa sono le stesse della forma del verbo to be: I’m – you’re – he’s…

Example
- They‘re used to working in a big, modern city.
- I have had long hair since I was a child so I‘m used to it now.
- He is used to the noise of the washing machine.

Usiamo la struttura To be used to, alla forma affermativa, per parlare di abitudini e costumi a noi familiari.
La struttura è:
Subject + to be + used to + [verb + -ing]/pronoun/noun phrase + …
Per esempio:
— “You are used to having breakfast early in the morning.” = Breakfast è un abitudine del soggetto.
NOTE: Non è da confondere con to use to, che può essere usato solo in frasi che sono già al passato.
Per esmpio:
— “You are used to having breakfast early in the morning.” = Usiamo to be used to per parlare di un’abitudine che il soggetto ha fino ad ora.
♦ “You used to have breakfast early in the morning.“= Usiamo to use to per esprimere un’azione che è accadeva nel passato, ma non accade più.
