Introduction
To be used to è una struttura usata per parlare di abitudini e costumi a noi familiari.
Espresso in forma negativa [negative form], il verbo nega un’abitudine del soggetto.
Form
To be used to, nella forma negativa ha la seguente struttura:
Subject + to be + not + used to + [verb + ing]/pronoun/noun phrase + …
- Le forme brevi della forma negativa sono le stesse del verbo to be: I’m not – you’re not/you aren’t – he’s not/he isn’t…

Example
- They‘re not used to working in a big, modern city.
- I have not had long hair since I was a child so I‘m not used to it now.
- He is not used the noise of the washing machine.
Use
La struttura To be used to , nella forma negativa, viene usata per parlare di cose o attività a cui qualcuno è abituato o solito.

La struttura è:
Subject + to be + not + used to + [verb + ing]/pronoun/noun phrase + …
Per esempio:
— “You are not used to having breakfast early in the morning.” = “Having breakfast in the morning” non è un’abitudine del soggetto.
NOTE: Da non confondere con to use to, che si può trovare solo in frasi al passato.
Per esempio:
— “You aren’t used to having breakfast early in the morning.” = Usiamo to be used to per esprimere un’azione a cui il soggetto non è abituato.
♦ “You didn’t use to have breakfast early in the morning.“= Usiamo to use to per esprimere un’azione che non è avvenuta nel passato, ma accade adesso.
