Introduction
To be used to je struktura koja se koristi za izricanje navika i običaja koji su nam poznati.
Kada se koristi u negativnom obliku, glagol negira da subjekt ima neku naviku.
Form
To be used to, u negativnom obliku, ima ovu strukturu:
Subject + to be + not + used to + [verb + ing]/pronoun/noun phrase + …
- Skraćeni negativni oblik jednak je skraćenom obliku glagola to be: I’m not – you’re not/you aren’t – he’s not/he isn’t…

Example
- They‘re not used to working in a big, modern city.
- I have not had long hair since I was a child so I‘m not used to it now.
- He is not used the noise of the washing machine.

To be used to, u negativnom obliku, negira stvari ili aktivnosti s kojima je subjekt upoznat ili na koje je navikao.

Struktura:

Naprimjer:
— “You are not used to having breakfast early in the morning.” = Doručak nije navika subjekta.
NAPOMENA: Ne miješate s to use to strukturom, koja se može pojaviti samo u perfektu.
Naprimjer:
— “You aren’t used to have breakfast early in the morning.” = Koristimo to be used to za izricanje radnje na koju je subjekt navikao.
♦ “You didn’t use to have breakfast early in the morning.“= Koristimo to use to za izricanje radnje koja se nije događala u prošlosti, ali se događa sada.
