Introduction

One i ones su riječi koje zamjenjuju druge riječi kako bi se izbjeglo njihovo ponavljanje.

Form

one i ones koristimo ovo pravilo:

  • One: za brojive imenice u jednini.
  • Ones: za brojive imenice u množini.

Ne koristimo ih s nebrojivim imenicama.

Example

One

  • I would like a waffle. Just a small one with some cream and berries.
  • This novel is better than that one.
  • They have a new camera, it’s the one I saw in the newspaper.

Ones

  • I really like these drawings, the ones which Peter drew.
  • He needs new photos of her. The ones that I took are too dark.
  • They saw new paintings of Joanna, the ones which are at the exhibition.

Use

One i ones se koriste za izbjegavanje nepotrebnog ponavljanja riječi (imenice u jednini ili množini).

Summary
