Gerund is a verb that functions as a noun referring to an action, a process or a state.


Gerund consists of base form of the verb and -ing.


  • He is good at ballroom dancing.
  • She enjoys playing with her friends in the park.
  • Counting to ten is easy.
  • Reading the newspaper is important.
  • I like going to museums.
  • She is always listening to that song.

Gerund is a verb that functions as a noun referring to a process, a state or an action. We can form a gerund by combining a base of the verb with -ing.

For example:
She is good at dancing.“
