Introduction
Auf English gibt es zwei haupt Fragetypen: Yes/No Questions und Wh- Questions.
Yes/No Questions werden auch Closed Questions oder Polar Questions genannt, weil die Antwort nur Yes oder No sein kann. Die Antworten werden Short Answers genannt.
EXTRA: Yes/No Questions = Ja/Nein Fragen; Wh- Questions = Wh- Fragen.
Form
Yes/No Questions haben diese Form:
Auxiliary/modal verb + subject + noun/verb + …?

Kurzantworten haben diese Form:
Yes/no + , + subject + auxiliary/modal verb (the same as the verb of the question).
Example
- Do you like the president? – Yes, I do. /
Yes, I like. – No, I don’t. - Did she go to the hospital? – Yes, she did. – No, she didn’t.
- Were you at church today? – Yes, we were. – No, we weren’t.
Use
Um eine Closed Question zu erstellen, sind die einzigen erlaubte Verben Hilfsverben (be, have, do, u.s.w.) oder modalverben (can, could, would usw.).
Normalerweise wiederholen wir ein Hilfs- oder Modal-Verb in einer Short Answers. Es ist nicht notwendig, das Verb zu wiederholen.
Summary
Wir rufen Yes/No Questions, Closed Question oder Polar Fragen als Antwort kann nur Yes oder No sein. Die Antwort auf diese Fragen heißt eine Short Answers.
- Die Bildung einer Ja/Nein Fragen:
Auxiliary/modal verb + subject + noun/verb + …? - Kurze Antworten sind so:
Yes/no + , + subject + auxiliary/modal verb (the same as the verb of the question).
Zum Beispiel:
— „Do you like cats? -Yes, I do.“ = Da die Frage mit to do gestellt wurde (Do you like cats?), wird die short answer das selbe Verb haben (Yes, I do).
NOTE: Wir können nur ein Hilfsverb benutzen (have/be…) oder ein Modalverb (can/could/would…), um eine Yes/No Questions zu erstellen.
