Introduction

Adverbien sind Ausdrücke, die als Modifikatoren anderer Elemente der Klausel fungieren. Sie können eine breite Palette von Informationen zur Verfügung stellen.

Diejenigen, die verwendet werden, um Informationen über die Häufigkeit eines Ereignisses zu geben, heißen Adverbs of Frequency.

EXTRA: Adverbs of Frequency = Adverbien der Häufigkeit.

Form

The structure of adverbs of frequency is as follows:
Subject + be/have + adverb + …
Subject + adverb + verb + …

Example

  • always go on holiday to Egypt.
  • never went to Thailand in the end.
  • He often seems to be tired.
  • rarely go to restaurants.
  • He sometimes buys newspapers.
  • usually go to school on time.

Use

Adverbien sind in der Regel nach den Hilfsverben „to be“ oder „to have“ („I‘m rarely at home“) und vor anderen Verben („I rarely go to the dentist“) verwendet:

  • Never (not at any time);
  • Rarely (not often);
  • Sometimes (on some occasions but not always or often);
  • Often (many times);
  • Usually (at most times);
  • Always (at all times).

Summary

Adverbien sind wichtig, da sie andere Elemente in einem Satz ändern. Auf Englisch können Adverbien Informationen über die Häufigkeit eines Ereignisses geben und diese heißen Adverbs of Frequency.

Die wichtigsten Adverbs of Frequency sind: Never, rarely, sometimes, often, usually und always.

Zum Beispiel:
— „I never go to school on Sundays.“ = In diesem Fall wird die Handlung durch das Verb to go ausgedrückt (nicht „to be“ oder „to have“), desshalb wird das Adverb vor dem Verb positioniert (adverb + verbto go“).
— „I‘m always at school in the morning.“ = In diesem Fall wird die Handlung durch das Verb to be ausgedrückt, desshalb wird das Adverb nach dem Verb positioniert (verbto be“ + adverb).
— „She never eats so much.“ = In diesem Fall wird die Handlung durch das Verb to eat ausgedrückt (nicht „to be“ oder „to have“), desshalb wird das Adverb vor dem Verb positioniert (Adverb + verbto eat“).
— „She usually buys shoes.“ = In diesem Fall wird die Handlung durch das Verb to buy ausgedrückt (nicht „to be“ oder „to have“), desshalb wird das Adverb vor dem Verb positioniert (Adverb + verbto buy“).

NOTE: Wenn wir ein Hilfsverb in einem Satz haben („to be“ oder „to have“), werden Adverb nach diesem Verb platziert, aber vorher, wenn sie mit anderen Verben verwendet werden.

Let’s revise this content within the [Form] section. Take a look at the [Example] section that shows its use within a context.
