Introduction
Countable Nouns beziehen sich auf Dinge, die getrennt sind und mit Zahlen gezählt werden können.
Anderseits, ist Uncountable ist die Kategorie von Substantiven, die sich auf Dinge beziehen, die wir als „Masse“ betrachten und nicht als separate Objekte, zum Beispiel Flüssigkeiten und andere Materialien ohne definierte Grenzen.

Example
Countable nouns
- Were there only a few people at work?
- There are shops on both sides of the street.
- So many people visit London in winter.
Uncountable nouns
- How little sugar is left?
- We do not have much time.
- Some people like football and basketball.
Use
Wir verwenden Both, Many und (a) Few mit Countable Nouns.
Wir verwenden Some, Much und (a) Little mit Uncountable Nouns.
Summary
Verschiedene Quantitative Determiners benutzt man mit verschiedenen Substantiven.
- Countable nouns (Substantive, die man einfach mit zahlen zählen kann) können die Determinanten Both, Many und (a) Few nehmen.
- Uncountable nouns (Substantive, die man nicht einfach zählen kann und die als „Masse“ betrachtet werden) können die folgenden Determinanten annehmen: Some, Much und (a) Little.
Zum Beispiel:
— Countable: „Can you buy a few coffees at the bar?“ (= some cups of coffee).
— Uncountable: „Can you buy some coffee at the supermarket?“ (= some coffee in powder).
Wir sehen den Unterschied dank dem Substantiv „Coffee“, der sowohl countable als auch uncountable sein kann, mit einem Unterschied in der Bedeutung.
NOTE: Quantitative Determiner sind nicht austauschbar (wenn Sie entweder oder jederzeit wählen können), Countable und Uncountable verwenden bestimmte Determinanten und müssen sie verwenden.
