Introduction
Would like digunakan untuk mengekspresikan permintaan atau ajakan secara sopan.
Form
Would adalah kata kerja modal dan ketika digunakan bersama dengan like (would like) menjadi suatu bentuk permintaan atau ajakan yang sopan. Dalam struktur kalimat, bentuk penulisan would like selalu sama, termasuk untuk orang ketiga tunggal. Kita dapat membagi strukturnya dalam tiga bentuk:
Afirmatif

Use
Kita menggunakan would like untuk menyampaikan keinginan secara sopan, khususnya ketika menawarkan atau meminta sesuatu.
CATATAN: Like memiliki arti yang berbeda dari would like: kata like digunakan untuk menyampaikan gambaran bahwa kita menyukai sesuatu.
Summary
Kita menggunakan would like untuk menyampaikan permintaan atau ajakan secara lebih sopan daripada kata want. Kita menggunakan struktur berbeda tergantung pada bentuk yang kita perlukan.
Strukturnya adalah:
- Afirmatif: Subject + would like + [to + verb]/noun + …
