NOTE: Like ha un significato diverso da would like; like é usato per dire cosa ci piace fare.

Usiamo would like per fare richieste o offerte in modo più cortese rispetto al verbo want, che ha un significato piú forte e diretto. Ci sono diverse forme in base a cosa vogliamo dire.

Le strutture sono:

  • Affermativa: Subject + would like + [to + verb]/noun + …
  • Negativa: Subject + would + not + like + [to + verb]/noun + …
  • Interrogativa: Would + subject + like + [to + verb]/noun + …?

Per esempio:
— Affermativa: “I would like a cup of tea.”
— Negativa: “I wouldn’t like a cup of tea.”
— Interrogativa:”Would you like a cup of tea?
