Introduction
L’infinito [infinitive] è la forma base di un verbo e la usiamo per formare altri tempi verbali.
Form
Ci sono due tipi di infinito:
- Lo zero infinitive consiste solo nella forma base del verbo (work).
- Il to-infinitive consiste in to seguito dalla forma base del verbo (to work).
Example
Zero infinitive
- I can listen to music all day.
- He can dance really well.
- They can go to the circus.
To-infinitive
- I asked him to teach me to read.
- She loves to visit the cathedral.
- We hope to find the information office.
Use
Lo zero e il to-infinitive vengono usati come basi per la formazione di altri tempi verbali.
