Introduction

Il passato semplice [past simple] è il tempo verbale usato per parlare di situazioni, eventi ed azioni che hanno avuto luogo nel passato e sono ora concluse.

Molti verbi comuni hanno forme irregolari al passato [irregular past form].

Form

Non c’é una regola che spiega come formare la forma irregolare del passato semplice.
I verbi irregolari piú comuni sono:

Example

  • bought a film yesterday.
  • He drank wine at church.
  • They went to the mountains last week.
  • We found the monuments.
  • went to the theatre last weekend.
  • She became a famous singer.
  • We saw a concert in the park.

Use

I verbi irregolari al passato vengono usati come quelli regolari, ma si formano in maniera diversa.

Summary

Ci sono molti verbi che formano il passato in maniera irregolare [irregular past forms].

I piú comuni sono: becomebecame, dodid, gowent, havehad, readread, seesaw

Per esempio:
— “I left my blanket under the tree.” / “I leaved my blanket under the tree.” = il verbo leave cambia in left, perché é un verbo irregolare.
