Introduction

Le preposizioni [prepositions] sono brevi parole che legano gli elementi in una frase. Sono essenziali perché forniscono ulteriori dettagli sulla frase posizionando eventi, persone, ed oggetti nel tempo e nello spazio.

Form

Le preposizioni di solito si posizionano prima di una frase nominale o un pronome.

Le preposizioni più comunemente utilizzate sono: at, by, for, from, in, on, to, with

Example

  1. I am at the supermarket.
  2. He went by bus.
  3. They went for a walk.
  4. The price increased from nine euros to eleven euros.
  5. The card is in the wallet.
  6. The exit is on the left.
  7. He went to the market.
  8. She payed with her card.

Use

Le preposizioni non hanno senso compiuto da sole ma si collegano ad altri elementi della frase. Tra le preposizioni piú comuni possiamo trovare le preposizioni di moto, di tempo o di luogo, mentre altre danno semplicemente più informazioni al lettore.

  1. At (stare in un luogo specifico);
  2. By (per mezzo di…);
  3. For (con l’obbiettivo di…);
  4. From (punto di partenza di un movimento);
  5. In (stare dentro ad un spazio tridimensionale chiuso);
  6. On (stare a contatto con una superficie);
  7. To (muoversi verso una destinazione);
  8. With (accompagnato da…).

Le preposizioni [prepositions] sono importanti dato che forniscono informazioni aggiuntive sulla frase. Alcune preposizioni comuni [common prepositions] sono le preposizioni di moto, di tempo o di luogo.
