I Nomi Plurali Irregolari

Introduction
I sostantivi [nouns] si riferiscono a una persona, un luogo, una cosa, un evento, una sostanza o una qualità.
La forma plurale [plural form] viene usata per indicare che vi è più di una persona, animale, luogo o cosa. Alcuni sostantivi non seguono questa regola, sono irregolari [irregular], e quindi il loro plurale [plural] viene formato diversamente.
Form
I nomi con il plurale irregolare non formano il plurale aggiungendo -s o -es. Non ci sono delle regole ben precise che spiegano la formazione del plurale di questi nomi. I plurali irregolari più comuni sono:

Example
- Child ⇒ We have three children.
- Foot ⇒ My feet are sore.
- Man ⇒ There are some men outside the house.
- Mouse ⇒ I found three mice in the barn.
- Person ⇒ They are such nice people.
- Tooth ⇒ He lost two teeth yesterday.
- Woman ⇒ They are very beautiful women.
Use
I plurali irregolari si usano allo stesso modo di quelli regolari, ma sono formati in maniera differente.
Summary
Non esiste una regola per la formazione dei plurali irregolari [irregular plurals], quindi vanno imparati a memoria.
Quelli più usati sono: child ⇒ children, foot ⇒ feet, man ⇒ men, person ⇒ people, woman ⇒ women…
