Summary
Il verbo like viene usato per esprimere quello che ci piace fare. Usiamo diverse strutture a seconda della forma del verbo che abbiamo bisogno di usare.
Le strutture sono:
- Affermativa: Subject + like/likes + [verb + -ing]/noun + … (likes per la terza persona singolare).
- Negativa: Subject + do/does + not + like + [verb + -ing]/noun + … (does per la terza persona singolare).
- Interrogativa: Do/does + subject + like + [verb + -ing]/noun + …? (does per la terza persona singolare).
Per esempio:
— Affermativa: “I like drinking tea.”
— Negativa: “I don’t like drinking tea.”
— Interrogativa: “Do you like drinking tea?”
NOTE: c’é una differenza sostanziale tra like e would like. Would like é usato per fare delle richieste o offerte in maniera cortese.
Per esempio:
— “I like sport.” = Usiamo like per esprimere che al soggetto piace fare sport.
♦ “I would like to do some sport.” = Usiamo would like per esprimere il desiderio del soggetto di fare sport.
