Introduction

Like, aditz moduan, gustuko dugun eta gozatzen ditugun gauzetarako erabiltzen dira.

Form

Normalean egitura hauek erabiltzen dira haren hiru formetan:

Affirmative

Egitura, bere baiezko forman, hurrengoa da:
Subject + like/likes + [verb + -ing]/noun + …

  • Like/likes: baiezko forman, hirugarren pertsona singularrean aldatu egiten da like-tik likes-ra.
Subject Like Verb + -ing/Noun
I like working/pizza
You like working/pizza
He likes working/pizza
She likes working/pizza
It likes working/pizza
We like working/pizza
You like working/pizza
They like working/pizza

Negative

Egitura, bere ezezko forman, hurrengoa da:
Subject + do/does + not + like + [verb + -ing]/noun + …

  • Do/does: ezezko forman, hirugarren pertsona singularrean aldatu egiten da do-tik does-ra;
  • Forma laburtua, ezezko forman, orainaldi sinplearen forma laburtu berdina da: I don’t – he doesn’t…
Subject do/does + not Like Verb + -ing/Noun
I do not like working/pizza
You do not like working/pizza
He does not like working/pizza
She does not like working/pizza
It does not like working/pizza

Interrogative

Egitura, bere galdera forman, hurrengoa da:
Do/does + subject + like + [verb + -ing]/noun + …?

  • Do/does: galdera forman, hirugarren pertsona singularrean aldatu egiten da do-tik does-ra.

Affirmative

  • I really like sending postcards to my family.
  • He likes to go to the mountains.

Negative

  • don’t like sending postcards to my family.
  • He doesn’t like going to the mountains.
  • We don’t like the holidays.

Interrogative

  • Do I like sending postcards to my family?
  • Does he like going to the mountains?
  • Do we like the holidays?

Use

Like erabiltzen dugu zerbait egitean gozamena adierazteko.

Summary

Like aditza zerbaitekiko gozamena adierazteko erabiltzen da.

Forma ezberdinetan erabili dezakegu:

  • Baiezko: Subjektuarekin hasten gara eta like aditza eta aditza -ing-rekin amaitua edo subjektuarekin ondoren. Hirugarren pertsona singularrean likes erabiltzen dugu.
  • Ezezko: Subjektuarekin hasten gara eta do not gehi like aditza eta aditza -ing-rekin amaitua edo subjektuarekin ondoren. Hirugarren pertsona singularrean does not erabiltzen dugu.
  • Galdera: Do-rekin hasten gara eta subjektua eta like aditza gehi aditza -ing-rekin edo subjektuarekin ondoren (esaldia galdera marka batekin amaitzen da). Hirugarren pertsona singularrean does erabiltzen dugu.

Adibidez:
— Baiezko: “I like drinking tea.”
— Ezezko: “I don’t like drinking tea.”
— Galdera: “Do you like drinking tea?

OHARRA: Would like eta like-ek esanahi ezberdina daukate: would like eskaerak edo eskaintzak modu formalean adierazteko erabiltzen da.

Adibidez:
— “I like sport.” = like subjektuak kirolak [sport] gustuko dituela adierazteko erabiltzen da.
♦ “would like to do some sport.” = would like subjektuari kirol bat [sport] egitea gustatuko litzaiokeela adierazteko erabiltzen da.
