Introduction

Like, kā darbības vārdu, izmanto, lai izpaustu to, kas rada baudu vai kas ir patīkams.

Form

Parasti šī vārda forma atrodama trijās formās:

Apgalvojuma

Izmantojamā forma apgalvojuma [affirmative] formā:
Subject + like/likes + [verb + -ing]/noun + …

  • Like/likes: apgalvojuma formā ar trešās personas vienskaitli like mainās uz likes.
Subject Like Verb + -ing/Noun
I like working/pizza
You like working/pizza
He likes working/pizza
She likes working/pizza
It likes working/pizza
We like working/pizza
You like working/pizza
They like working/pizza

Nolieguma

Izmantojamā forma nolieguma [negative] formā:
Subject + do/does + not + like + [verb + -ing]/noun + …

  • Do/does: nolieguma formā ar trešo personu vienskaitlī do mainās uz does;
  • Nolieguma formas saīsinātā forma ir tāda paša, kā saīsinātā forma laika present simple: I don’t – he doesn’t…

Jautājuma

Izmantojamā forma jautājuma [interrogative] formā:
Do/does + subject + like + [verb + -ing]/noun + …?

  • Do/does: jautājuma formā ar trešās personas vienskaitli do mainās uz does.

Apgalvojumi

  • I really like cooking.
  • He likes sports.

Noliegumi

  • I don’t like cooking.

Jautājumi

  • Do I like cooking?
  • Does he like sports?
  • Do we like going out at weekends?

Use

Like izmanto, ja vēlas izpaust baudu no kaut kā darīšanas.

Summary

Darbības vārdu like izmanto, lai izpaustu domu par kaut kā baudīšanu. Lieto dažādas formulas, kas atkarīgas no nepieciešamā darbības vārda formas.

Izmantojamās formulas:

  • Apgalvojumiem: Subject + like/likes + [verb + -ing]/noun + … (likes trešajai personai vienskaitlī).
  • Noliegumiem: Subject + do/does + not + like + [verb + -ing]/noun + … (does trešajai personai vienskaitlī).
  • Jautājumiem: Do/does + subject + like + [verb + -ing]/noun + …? (does trešajai personai vienskaitlī).

Piemēram:
— Apgalvojums: “I like drinking tea.”
— Noliegums: “I don’t like drinking tea.”
— Jautājums: “Do you like drinking tea?

PIEZĪME: Pastāv nozīmīga atšķirība starp like un would like nozīmēm. Would like izmanto, lai paustu lūgumus vai piedāvājumus pieklājīgākā formā.

Piemēram:
— “I like sport.” = Izmantojam like, lai izpaustu ideju, ka teikuma priekšmetam patīk nodarboties ar sportu.
♦ “would like to do some sport.” = Izmantojam would like, lai izpaustu teikuma priekšmeta vēlmi nodarboties ar sportu.
