Introduction
Laiku present continuous (vai progresīvo [progressive] laiku) izmanto, lai izteiktu situācijas, kas notiek tagad (runāšanas laikā, pirms un pēc tā).
Jautājuma [interrogative] formā to izmanto, lai veidotu jautājumus par kaut ko, kas notiek tagad.
Form
Laikam present continuous jautājuma formā ir sekojoša formula:
To be + subject + [verb + -ing] + …?

Use
Laiku present continuous izmanto nolieguma formā, lai jautātu par:
- Darbībām, kas notiek runāšanas brīdī;
- Pagaidu darbībām (kas beigsies nākotnē);
- Nākotnes plānotām darbībām;
- Izmaiņām un tendenci;
- Notikumu secību.

To be + subject + [verb + -ing] + …?
Piemēram:
— “Is he working on an important project today?” = Izmantojam present continuous, lai jautātu par darbību, kas notiek runāšanas brīdī (tajā brīdī).
♦ “Does he work on important projects?” = Izmantojam present simple , lai jautātu par darbību, kas notiek vairākkārt vai vienmēr tagadnes laikā.
