Le passé simple des verbes irréguliers

Introduction
Le passé simple [past simple] est le temps utilisé pour parler de situations, d’événements et d’actions qui se sont déroulés dans le passé et sont maintenant terminés.
Beaucoup de verbes usuels ont un passé irrégulier.
Form
Aucune règle n’explique la formation des verbes irréguliers au passé simple. Il faut les apprendre par cœur.
Les plus courants sont :

Example
- I bought a film yesterday.
- He drank wine at church.
- They went to the mountains last week.
- We found the monuments.
- I went to the theatre last weekend.
- She became a famous singer.
- We saw a concert in the park.
Use
On utilise les verbes irréguliers au passé simple de la même manière que les réguliers, seule leur forme change.
Summary
Beaucoup de verbes ont un passé simple irrégulier.
Les plus courants sont : become ⇒ became, do ⇒ did, go ⇒ went, have ⇒ had, leave ⇒ left, read ⇒ read, see ⇒ saw…
Par exemple :
— « I left my blanket under the tree. » / « I leaved my blanket under the tree. » = Le verbe leave se change en left car c’est un verbe irrégulier.
