Introduction

Будущее [future] время используется, чтобы предсказать или выразить события в будущем.

Future simple помогает выразить спонтанные решения, мнения и надежды {смотреть Future Simple, уровень A2}.

Be going to используется, чтобы выразить намерения на будущее, а также предвидения в зависимости от признаков в настоящем времени {смотреть Be going to, уровень A1}.

Form

Simple future (will) и be going to имеют разные формулы для трёх форм.

Утвердительные [affirmative] формы:

  • Simple future: Subject + will + verb + …
  • Be going to: Subject + to be + going to + verb + …

Отрицательные [negative] формы:

  • Simple future: Subject + will + not + verb + …
  • Be going to: Subject + to be + not + going to + verb + …

Вопросительные [interrogative] формы:

  • Simple future: Will + subject + verb + …?
  • Be going to: To be + subject + going to + verb + …?

Example

Simple future:

Решения в момент разговора

  • We don’t have any bread for dinner. I will go and buy some from the bakery.

Приглашения

  • Will you come with us to meet the president?

Необходимости/обязательства/факты в будущем

  • You will have to pay with cash if you buy clothes under 50 euros.

Предложения

  • I will help you to make these photocopies.

Прогнозы, основанные на мнениях

  • He thinks that being retired will be boring.

Обещания

  • I promise I will never talk to the boss about this! 

Запросы

  • The telephone is ringing. Will you answer it please?

Предложения с probably, certainly, perhaps

  • I will certainly come to the party.
  • He probably won’t finish writing his CV in time.
  • Perhaps we will need a new printer soon. This one is getting so slow.

Угрозы

  • If you don’t send an email, I will not talk to you again.

Be going to:

Решения до разговора/планируемого действия

  • We don’t have paper for the printer. I am going to get some.

Прогнозы, основанные на доказательствах о ближайшем будущем

  • This business isn’t going to fail. It’s a multinational corporation!

Use

Simple future используется для:

  1. Решений, принятых во время разговора;
  2. Прогнозов, основанных на мнениях;
  3. Приглашений;
  4. Просьб;
  5. Предложений;
  6. Предложений, содержащих наречия: probably, certainly, perhaps;
  7. Обещаний;
  8. Потребностей/обязанности/будущих событий;
  9. Угроз.

Be going to используется для выражения:

  1. Решений, принятых до момента разговора, уже запланированных действий или событий;
  2. Прогнозов, основанных на доказательствах о ближайшем будущем.

Summary

Simple future (will) и be going to являются двумя формами будущего времени [future tense], которые отличаются по значению и форме.

Например:
— “This printer will probably cost you 70 euros. I heard that it is the usual price.” = Цена не известна, делается предположение, поэтому используется время future simple.
— “This printer is going to cost 70 euros. I checked the price tag.” = Цена известна, поэтому используется формула с be going to.

ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ: В некоторых ситуациях необходимо использовать формулу с be going to, а в других случаях время future simple.
