Introduction

Form

Simple future (will) in be going to imata različne strukture za tri oblike.

Trdilne oblike:

  • Simple future: Subject + will + verb + …
  • Be going to to: Subject + to be + going to + verb + …

Nikalne oblike:

  • Simple future: Subject + will + not + verb + …
  • Be going to: Subject + to be + not + going to + verb + …

Vprašalne oblike:

  • Simple future: Will + subject + verb + …?
  • Be going to: To be + subject + going to + verb + …?

Example

Simple future:

  1. Odločitev v trenutku govora
    • We don’t have any bread for dinner. I will go and buy some.
  2. Napovedi, ki temeljijo na mnenjih
    • I think this blouse won’t be tight on me.
  3. Povabila
    • Will you come with us?
  4. Zahteve
    • It’s cold. Will you close the window?
  5. Ponudbe
    • I will help you find your student card.
  6. S: probably, certainly, perhaps
    • I will certainly come to the party.
  7. Obljube
    • I promise I will never do it again!
  8. Nuje/obveze/dejstva v prihodnosti
    • You will have to pay with cash if you buy clothes under 50 euros.
  9. Grožnje
    • If you don’t take off my jacket, I will not talk to you again.

Be going to:

  1. Odločitev pred trenutkom govora/planirano aktivnostjo
    • We don’t have paper for the printer. I am going to get some.
  2. Napovedi, ki temeljijo na dokazih o bližnji prihodnosti
    • This business isn’t going to close. They have customers.

Use

Simple future uporabljamo za izražanje:

  1. Odločitev, sprejetih v času govora;
  2. Napovedi, ki temeljijo na mnenjih;
  3. Povabil;
  4. Zahtev;
  5. Ponudb;
  6. Povedi, ki vsebujejo prislove: probably, certainly, perhaps;
  7. Obljub;
  8. Potreb/dolžnosti/prihodnjih dogodkov;
  9. Groženj.

Be going to uporabljamo za izražanje:

  1. Odločitev, sprejetih pred trenutkom govora, že načrtovanim dogodkom ali aktivnostjo;
  2. Napovedi, ki temeljijo na dokazih o bližnji prihodnosti.

Summary

Enostavni prihodnjik [future simple] (will) in be going to sta dve obliki prihodnjega časa, ki se razlikujeta po pomenu in obliki.

Na primer:
— “Probably this printer will cost you 70 euros. I heard that it is the usual price.” = Nismo prepričani glede cene, zgolj uganjujemo in zato uporabimo future simple.
— “This printer is going to cost 70 euros. I checked the price tag.” = Prepričani smo glede cene, zato uporabimo be going to.

NOTE: Nekatere situacije zahtevajo strukturo be going to, medtem ko druge zahtevajo future simple.
