Introduction

Predlogi [prepositions] so majhne besede, ki povezujejo elemente v povedi. Pomembni so, ker dodajajo podrobnosti o povedi.

Predloge premikanja [prepositions of movement] uporabljamo za izražanje premikanja ali usmeritev.

Form

Predlogi premikanja ne stojijo sami zase, ampak delujejo skupaj z drugimi elementi v povedi. Opisujejo lahko:

  1. Premikanje v kraj ali iz kraja: to, from, down, up, away from…
  2. Premikanje iz ene strani na drugo: across, along…
  3. Spreminjanje položaja: in/into, on/onto, out of, off, over, under…

Example

  1. Premikanje v kraj ali iz kraja
    • Northern wind goes to Turkey every winter.
    • My mother came from the garden.
    • The baby pig fell down the stairs.
    • I’m going up to the second floor to see the sky.
    • Get away from the olive trees!
  2. Premikanje iz ene strani na drugo
    • Be careful when you go across the streets. It is snowing.
    • Every Sunday we go for a walk along the coast.
  3. Spreminjanje položaja
    • My grandfather is coming into the garden.
    • My sister’s cat always jumps on/onto the table.
    • Your dog is out of your apartment right now.
    • Can you get off the bed and go to the supermarket, please?
    • The plane flies over the hill.
    • The subway runs under the street level.

Use

Predloge premikanja uporabljamo, da pokažemo premikanje iz enega kraja v drugega. Lahko izražajo:

  1. Premikanje v kraj ali iz kraja;
  2. Premikanje iz ene strani na drugo;
  3. Spreminjanje položaja.

Summary

Predloge premikanja [prepositions of movement] uporabljamo za izražanje premikanja ali usmeritev:

  • Premikanje iz enega kraja v drugega: to, from, down, up, away from…
  • Premikanje iz ene strani na drugo: across, along…
  • Spreminjanje položaja: in/into, on/onto, out of, off, over, under…

Na primer:
— “I go to Ibiza every summer.” = To uporabljamo za izražanje spremembe položaja, ki jo moramo narediti, da dosežemo določeno destinacijo.
— “Be careful when you go across the streets.” = Across uporabljamo za izražanje spremembe položaja iz ene strani na drugo.
— “My grandfather walks in/into the living room.” = In/into uporabljamo za izražanje spremembe položaja s ciljem vstopiti v tridimenzionalni prostor.
