Introduction
Prepositions – маленькі слова,які пов’язані з іншим елементом в реченні.Вони мають важливе значення,тому що надають додаткову інформацію про речення.
Ми вживаємо Prepositions of Movements, щоб розмістити подію в просторовій межі.
EXTRA: Prepositions = Прийменники; Prepositions of Movement = Прийменники руху.
Form
Щоб розповісти про рухи і зміну позиції, ми вживаємо Prepositions of Movement, їхнє вживання залежить від:
- рух до чи від місця: to, from, down, up, away from…
- рух від однієї сторони до іншої: across, along…
- зміна позиції: in/into, on/onto, out of, off, over, under…
Example
Movement to or from a place
- Get away from the olive trees!
- The baby pig fell down the stairs.
- My mother came from the garden.
- Northern wind goes to Turkey every winter.
- I’m going up to the second floor to see the sky.
Movement from one side to another
- Be careful when you go across the streets. It is snowing.
- Every Sunday we go for a walk along the coast.
Changing position
- My grandfather is coming into the garden.
- My sister’s cat always jumps on/onto the table.
- Your dog is out of your apartment right now.
- Can you get off the bed and go to the supermarket, please?
- The plane flies over the hill.
- The subway runs under the street level.
Use
Prepositions of Movement мають різне вживання.
- рух до чи від місця
- To (відстань зміни позиції);
- From (початкова точка зміни позиції);
- Down (переїзд у нижче місце розташування);
- Up (переїзд у вище місце розташування);
- Away from (віддалятися від місця).
- рух від однієї сторони до іншої
- Across (перетинати стежку,вулицю, і т.д. до пункту призначення);
- Along (прогулянка вздовж бічної сторони до пункту призначення).
- зміна позиції
- In/Into (входити в 3-мірне місце);
- On/Onto (розміщення на вершині 3-мірного місця,маючи контакт з місцем);
- Out of залишати 3-мірне місце);
- Off (зміна позиції,залишаючи попереднє місце);
- Over (розміщення на вершині 3-мірного місця,не маючи контакт з місцем);
- Under (розміщення внизу 3-мірного місця).
Summary
Prepositions є важливими,оскільки надають додаткову інформацію про речення.
Ми говоримо про рухи і зміну позиції,вживаючи наступні Prepositions of Movement:
- рух до чи від місця: to, from, down, up, away from…
- рух від однієї сторони до іншої: across, along…
- зміна позиції: in/into, on/onto, out of, off, over, under…
Наприклад:
— “I go to Ibiza every summer.” = Ми вживаємо to, тому що ми хочемо розповісти про зміну позиції,зроблену в певному пункті призначення.
— “My grandfather walks in/into the living room.” = Ми вживаємо in/into, тому що ми розповідаємо про зміну позиції, входячи в 3-вимірне місце.
— “Get your feet off the table! ” = Ми вживаємо off, тому що стіл є поверхнею.
— “Be careful when you go across the streets.” = Ми вживаємо across, тому що ми розповідаємо про зміну позиції від однієї сторони до іншої через доріжку.
