Introduction
Temporal Clause зазвичай складаються з двох частин: незалежне речення і залежне речення,які пов’язані з одним із цих з’єднувачів: Before, after, when, while. Ці з’єднувачі відносяться до певного моменту часу.
Form
Temporal Clause може виражатися двома типами структур,що відрізняються за порядком слів,але не за значенням:
- Connector + clause + , + clause
- Clause + connector + clause
connectors: before, after, when and while.
Example
After
- After you fainted, the ambulance came.
- The ambulance came after you fainted.
- After we saw her, we realised she had short hair.
- We realised she had short hair after we saw her.
Before
- Before I go to work, I straighten my hair.
- I straighten my hair before I go to work.
- Before it starts raining, we should leave.
- We should leave before it starts raining.
When
- When she had a disease, she felt bad.
- She felt bad when she had a disease.
- When they were sleeping, the light was on.
- The light was on when they were sleeping.
While
- While you were reading, they had some coffee.
- They had some coffee while you were reading.
- While he is doing the exercise, he feels good.
- He feels good while he is doing the exercise.
Use
Ми вживаємо Temporal Clauses ,щоб утворити більше складних речень і розмістити подію в точному моменті чи періоді. Temporal Clause набуває сенсу,завдяки наступним з’єднувачам:
- Before (попередня подія);
- After (наступна подія);
- When (в певний момент);
- While (в той самий час з іншою подією).
Summary
Temporal Clauses вживаються в англійській мові для того,щоб утворити більше складних речень і розташувати подію в певний момент чи період. Ці речення зазвичай складаються з двох частин: незалежне речення і залежне речення,які пов’язані з допомогою з’єднувача.
Цими з’єднувачами є: Before, after, when і while.
Наприклад:
— “I’ll have a shower before dinner.” = “The shower” є першою подією,яка відбувається і “the dinner” – друга.
— “I’ll have a shower after dinner.” = “The dinner” є першою подією,яка відбувається і “the shower” – друга.
— “I’ll have a shower when the water gets warmer.” = “The shower” буде в той момент,коли “the water gets warmer“.
— “I’ll have a shower while you cook dinner.” = Дві події відбуваються в той самий час.
