Introduction
Invariant Nouns – це іменники, які не змінюються у множині ,тому що мають незазначене число.
EXTRA: Invariant Nouns = Невідмінювані іменники.
Form
Найбільш вживані Invariant Nouns множини є такими: clothes, fireworks, glasses, goggles, jeans, outskirts, scissors, series, thanks, trousers…
Example
Singular form of the invariant nouns
- A pair of scissors is on the office desk.
- This advertisement is about a new series.
- Your old pair of goggles is used in the musical.
Plural form of the invariant nouns
- Scissors are dangerous for babies.
- New TV series about famous writers is going to start.
- These goggles cost a fortune!
Use
Як правило, якщо ми хочемо змінити слово з однини на множину, то лише додається закінчення “-s” до однини. Invariant Nouns є такими самими в однині і множині, у тому випадку ми не маємо додавати те закінчення (якщо вони мають форму однини).
Коли невідмінюваний іменник має форму як однини, так і множини то артикль примінюється до нього.

Invariant Nouns –це іменники, які не змінюються у множині. Є багато незмінюваних іменників в англійській мові, але найбільш вживаними є такі: clothes, fireworks, glasses, goggles, jeans, outskirts, scissors, series, thanks, trousers…
Наприклад:
— “I bought a pair of jeans.” = Однина.
— “I bought two pairs of jeans.” = Множина.
NOTE: ці іменники є такими самими як у множині так і однині (якщо вони мають форму однини), і якщо вони мають форму однини множини, то потрібно вжити правильний артикль.
