Introduction
Viitorul [future] este timpul folosit pentru a face preziceri sau pentru a vorbi despre evenimente viitoare.
Folosim Viitorul Simplu [future simple] pentru a exprima opinii, decizii spontane sau speranțe {vezi Viitorul Simplu, Nivelul A2}.
Folosim structura “To be going to” pentru a exprima intenții pentru viitor și pentru a face previziuni bazate pe semne pe care le observăm în prezent.
Form
Viitorul Simplu (will) și be going to au structuri diferite pentru cele trei forme.
Afirmativ [affirmative]:
- Viitorul simplu: Subject + will + verb + …
- Be going to: Subject + to be + going to + verb + …
Negativ [negative]:
- Viitorul simplu: Subject + will + not + verb + …
- Be going to: Subject + to be + not + going to + verb + …
Interogativ [interrogative]:
- Viitorul simplu: Will + subject + verb + …?
- Be going to: To be + subject + going to + verb + …?
Example
Simple future:
Decizii în momentul vorbirii
- We don’t have any bread for dinner. I will go and buy some from the bakery.
Invitații
- Will you come with us to meet the president?
Necesități/obligații/lucruri certe din viitor
- You will have to pay with cash if you buy clothes under 50 euros.
Oferte
- I will help you to make these photocopies.
Preziceri bazate pe opinii
- He thinks that being retired will be boring.
Promisiuni
- I promise I will never talk to the boss about this!
Cereri
- The telephone is ringing. Will you answer it please?
Propoziții ce conțin adverbe precum: probably, certainly, perhaps
- I will certainly come to the party.
- He probably won’t finish writing his CV in time.
- Perhaps we will need a new printer soon. This one is getting so slow.
Amenințări
- If you don’t send an email, I will not talk to you again.
Be going to:
Decizii luate înainte de momentul vorbirii/ activități planificate
- We don’t have paper for the printer. I am going to get some.
Preziceri bazate pe dovezi despre viitorul apropiat
- This business isn’t going to fail. It’s a multinational corporation!
Use
Viitorul simplu este utilizat pentru a exprima:
- Decizii luate în timpul vorbirii;
- Preziceri bazate pe opinii;
- Invitații;
- Cereri;
- Oferte;
- Propoziții care conțin adverbele: probably, certainly, perhaps;
- Promisiuni;
- Nevoi/sarcini/evenimente viitoare;
- Amenințări.
Be going to este folosit pentru a exprima:
- Decizii luate înainte de momentul vorbirii, activități și evenimente deja planificate;
- Preziceri bazate pe dovezi despre viitorul apropiat.
Summary
Viitorul Simplu [Simple future] (will) și be going to sunt două forme ale viitorului simplu [future tense], care se diferențiază în semnificație și formă.
De exemplu:
— “This printer will probably cost you 70 euros. I heard that it is the usual price.” = Nu suntem siguri de preț, doar facem o presupunere și, de aceea, folosim viitorul simplu.
— “This printer is going to cost 70 euros. I checked the price tag.” = Suntem siguri de preț, de aceea, folosim be going to.
NOTĂ: Anumite situații necesită structura be going to, pe când altele necesită Viitorul Simplu.
