Introduction
Adverbele [Adverb] sunt expresiile care funcționează ca modificatori ale altor elemente din propoziție. Ele pot oferi multă informație.
Adverbele de loc [Adverbs of place] oferă informații despre locul [place] unei acțiuni.
Form
Adverbele de loc nu se folosesc ca modificatori ale altor adjective sau adverbe. În propoziție, le plasăm după complemente sau verbe.
Cele mai frecvente sunt: here, there, downstairs, upstairs, inside, outside, indoors, outdoors, anywhere, abroad…
Example
- The non-alcoholic drinks are downstairs.
- A packet of flour was here yesterday.
- Stay indoors and don’t ask questions.
- I stay inside have a warm meal when the weather is bad.
- Everybody is outside.
- He was there at the bar 2 minutes before.
- They are sitting upstairs.
