Introduction
Zarflar [adverbs] tümcedeki diğer ögelerin niteleyicileri olarak görev alırlar. Cümlede geniş çapta bilgi sağlarlar.
Bir olayın gerçekleştiği yer hakkında bilgi veren zarflara Yer Zarfları [Adverbs of Place] denir.
Form
Temel Yer Zarfları belirleyiler ya da sıfat/zarf olarak kullanılmazlar. Genellikle ana fiilden ya da bir nesneden sonra gelirler.
Temel yer zarfları: here, there, downstairs, upstairs, inside, outside, indoors, outdoors, anywhere, abroad…
Example
- A packet of flour was here yesterday.
- He was there at the bar 2 minutes before.
- The non alcoholic drinks are downstairs.
- They are sitting upstairs.
- I stay inside and have a warm meal when the weather is bad.
- Everybody is outside.
- Stay indoors and don’t ask questions.
Use
Yer Zarfları bahsedilen olayın yeri hakkında bilgi verirler.
Summary
Bir olayın yer aldığı yer hakkında bilgi veren zarflara Yer Zarfları [Adverbs of Place] denir. Cümledeki diğer belirleyiciler kadar önemlidirler.
Temel Yer Zarfları şunlardır: here, there, downstairs, upstairs, inside, outside, indoors, outdoors, anywhere, abroad…
Örnek:
— “Are you looking for a vegetarian sandwich? It’s here.” = Burada here bir şeyin yerini belirtmek için kullanılmış.
