Introduction

Zamirler [pronouns] isimlerin tekrarından kaçınmak için kullanılır.

Belirsizlik Zamirleri [indefinite pronouns] herhangi bir insana, şeye veya miktara işaret etmez.

Something ne olduğu belirtilmeyen nesneye işaret ederken Nothing hiçbir anlamındadır.

Form

Something cümlede ve soruda nesne ya da özne olarak kullanılabilir. Olumlu cümlelerde tekildir.
Fiil/yardımcı fiil + something + …
Something + fiil/yardımcı fiil + …Nothing cümlede ve soruda nesne ya da özne olarak kullanılabilir. Anlamı zaten olumsuz olduğu için olumsuz yapıdaki cümlelerde kullanılmaz.

Nothing + fiil + …

Example

Something

  • I need something to clean the microwave.
  • Something smells terrible in the gas oven.

Nothing

  • There is nothing in the dishwasher.
  • Right now, nothing is in good state.

Use

Belirsizlik Zamirleri herhangi bir insana, şeye veya miktara işaret etmez.
Something ne olduğu belirtilmemiş bir şeye işaret eder. Nothing tekil nesneler için kullanılır.

  • Something yapısı:

Nothing hiç anlamında kullanılır.

    Nothing + fiil + …

Örnek:
— “There is something in the fridge.” = Something tekil bir nesneden bahsetmek için kullanılır.
— “There is nothing in the fridge.” = Nothing bir şeyin yokluğundan bahsetmek için kullanılır.
