Introduction
Apstākļu vārdi [adverbs] ir izteicieni, kas darbojas kā teikuma locekļu pārveidotāji. Tie var sniegt dažādu informācijas.
Vietas apstākļa vārdi [adverbs of place] sniedz informāciju par darbības notikuma vietu [place].
Form
Vietas apstākļa vārdus neizmanto kā citu īpašības vārdu vai apstākļu vārdu pārveidotājus. Teikumos tie atrodas aiz priekšmeta vai darbības vārda.
Bieži izmantojamie: here, there, downstairs, upstairs, inside, outside, indoors, outdoors, anywhere, abroad…
Example
- A packet of flour was here yesterday.
- He was there at the bar 2 minutes before.
- The non alcoholic drinks are downstairs.
- They are sitting upstairs.
- I stay inside and have a warm meal when the weather is bad.
- Everybody is outside.
- Stay indoors and don’t ask questions.
