Introduction
Prepositional Phrases sind das Ergebnis der Kombination der Präpositionen und anderer Elemente des Satzes (Substantive, Pronomen, Gerundsien).
EXTRA: Prepositional Phrases = Präpositionalphrasen.
Form
Prepositional Phrases haben diese Bildung:
- Preposition + noun: at, under and on.
- Preposition + pronoun: with, to and from.
- Preposition + gerund: without, after and before.
Example
Preposition + noun
- She works at home.
- The meeting is at 7, I hope that she arrives on time.
- The shop is under the bridge.
Preposition + pronoun
- I received the information from him.
- I am telling this to everybody.
- You can come to the supermarket with me.
Preposition + gerund
- I always go to work after watching television.
- I usually eat breakfast before going to school.
- He left the house without listening to his mum.
Use
Ein Prepositional Phrase verwendet man:
- Als ein Adjektiv;
- Als ein Adverb (Zeit und Ort);
- Als ein Substantivalsatz;
- Mit doppelten Objektverben;
- Um zu zeigen wer etwas gemacht hat.
