Introduction
Uncountable Nouns beziehen sich auf Dinge, die wir als „Masse“ Betrachten und nicht als separate Objekte, beispielsweise Flüssigkeiten und andere Materialien Ohne definierten Grenzen. Sie können keine Zahlen verwenden, um die Menge diesen Dingen zu zählen, und das ist, warum sie als „Uncountable“ definiert sind.

Form
Uncountable Nouns beziehen sich auf Dinge, die wir als „Masse“ Betrachten und nicht als separate Objekte. Unten finden wir die häufigsten unzählbaren Substantiven:
- With only singular form: advice, baggage, energy, hair, homework, information, money…
- With only plural form: clothes, groceries, news, regards, thanks…
- Uncountable when referring to a general meaning and countable when referring to a specific thing or meaning: a type of, a kind of…, materials and liquids: glass, paper, coffee, water…, or abstract nouns: life, time…
Example
Only singular uncountable nouns
- My baggage is so heavy because of the camera in it!
- Her energy as a salsa dancer is incredible!
- Their money was not enough to buy the painting.
Only plural uncountable nouns
- Could you get the groceries?
- He told me some news about your journey.
- We send our thanks to the director.
Both uncountable and countable uses
- Can I borrow some coffee? / Shall I get a coffee (= a cup of coffee)?
- She has a lot of glass bowls. / Does she want a glass of coke?
- I need more time. / I miss the times of my internship ( = a specific period).
Use
Uncountable Nouns beziehen sich normalerweise auf abstrakte Ideen, Stoffe, Materialien, Gase und Flüssigkeiten.
- Uncountable Nouns sind meistens einzahl;
- Einige Substantiven haben nur die Pluralform;
- Einige Substantiven sind unzählbar und beziehen sich auf eine allgemeine Bedeutung, und andere sind zählbar Substantive auf eine spezifische sache, oder bedeuten, „a type of“, „a kind of“ usw. oder ein Objekt aus einem Material.

Uncountable Nouns sind Substantive, die wir nicht einfach zählen können oder sind was wir als „Masse“ bezeichnen.
Uncountable Nouns sind meist singulär ohne Plural: advice, baggage, energy, hair, homework, information, money…
Manchmal können sie auch Plural sein ohne Singular: clothes, groceries, news, regards, thanks…
Viele Uncountable Nouns haben sowohl zählbare als auch unzählbare Verwendungen, manchmal mit Bedeutungsunterschieden. Zum Beispiel sind Wörter für Materialien unzählbar, aber wir können sie als Zählbar verwenden, wenn wir auf etwas aus diesem Material verweisen: Paper/a paper, coffee/a coffee, glass/a glass.
Zum Beispiel:
— „Can I have some coffee?“ = Das Wort Coffee, in diesem Fall bezieht sich auf Kaffee als Pulver, aus diesem Grund gilt es als Uncountable.
— „Can I have a coffee?“ = In diesem Fall hat das Wort „Coffee“ die implizite Bedeutung von „eine Tasse Kaffee“ (a cup of coffee), aus diesem Grund gilt es als Countable.
