Predicciones
- The profit is low. We are going to go bankrupt.
- The profit is high. We are not going to go bankrupt.
- The profit is low. Are we going to go bankrupt?
Cosas que están a punto de ocurrir
- Look at the sky. It is going to rain.
- Look at the sky. It is not going to rain.
- Look at the sky. Is it going to rain?
Órdenes
- You are going to talk to the boss!
- He is going to work as a babysitter.
- They are not going to meet with the client.
Use
Usamos el futuro con la estructura be going to para hablar, negar o preguntar sobre:
- Predicciones (basadas en indicios que vemos en el momento);
- Cosas que están a punto de ocurrir (sobre las que estamos seguro);
- Órdenes (formas afirmativas y negativas).
Summary
Podemos usar be going to para expresar predicciones, cosas que están a punto de ocurrir y órdenes.
Por ejemplo:
— «I am going to work on an important project next month.» = Usamos be going to para mostrar las intenciones del hablante de trabajar en un proyecto importante que aún no se ha fijado.
♦ «I am working on an important project next month.» = Usamos el present continuouspara el futuro para mostrar que ya se ha confirmado que el hablante trabajará en un proyecto importante.
