Introduction
Las preguntas wh- [wh- questions] siempre empiezan con un pronombre interrogativo wh-, sirven para mostrar qué tipo de información se necesita. {ver Preguntas Wh-, Nivel A1}.
Podemos usarlas también para hacer preguntas sobre el pasado.
Form

En el pasado (simple y continuo), usamos las formas en pasado de los verbos auxiliares y modales.
La estructura de las preguntas wh- en pasado son:
- Con un verbo auxiliar:
Wh- question word + auxiliary verb (past form) + subject + verb +…? - Sin un verbo auxiliar:
What/Who + verb (past form) + …?
Which/Whose + noun + verb (past form) + …? - Con un verbo modal:
Wh- question word + modal verb (past form) + subject + verb + …?
Wh- question word + auxiliary verb (past form) + subject + modal verb + verb + …?
Example
- When was the Second World War?
- Where did you live 10 years ago?
- Why did she move to London?
- Which course did you choose?
- What did the director tell you?
- Whose child was that?
- Who ate all the chocolate?
- Whom did he call?
- How did you get there?

Las preguntas wh- empiezan con un pronombre interrogativos wh-: when, where, why, which, what, whose, who, whom y how.
Los pronombre interrogativos wh- introducen las preguntas:
Por ejemplo:
— «Where did you sleep last night?» = Where introduce una pregunta abierta, porque podemos dar un numero infinito de respuestas?
♦ “Did you buy this coat in the new shop?” = Yes/no questions requieren respuestas cortas seguidas por sí o no, también conocidas como preguntas cerradas.
