Introduction

El futuro [future] es el tiempo utilizado para predecir o expresar eventos del futuro.

Cuando usamos la estructura presente continuo [present continuous] hacemos referencia a planes fijados {ver Presente continuo, Nivel A1}.

Form

Example

  • She‘s having a birthday party next week.
  • She isn’t having a birthday party next week.
  • Is she having a birthday party next week?

Use

Usamos el presente continuo para expresar, negar o preguntar sobre actividades planificadas del futuro o planes con el tiempo (hora, fecha…) ya decidido.

Summary

Usamos el presente continuo [present continuous] para expresar el futuro o hacer referencia a planes fijados.

Por ejemplo:
— «I am working on an important project the whole month.» = Usamos el presente continuo para el futuro porque expresamos el futuro cercano (pronto).
♦ «I am working on an important project the whole month.» = Usamos el presente continuo porque expresamos nuestra situación actual (ahora).
♦ «I will work on an important project the whole month.» = Usamos el futuro simple porque expresamos un periodo de tiempo más lejos (futuro).
