Introduction
Possessive Case використовується, для вираження речей, що належать людині або тварині. Ми навіть можемо вживати його, щоб показати, що одна річ належить до іншої речі.

Form
Нижче можна переглянути три випадки утворення Possessive Case:
- Singular – ми додаємо апостроф і s (‘s) до іменників однини: cat –> cat‘s;
- Plural – ми додаємо апостроф (‘) до правильних іменників: cats –> cats‘;
- Irregular plural – ми додаємо апостроф і s (‘s) до неправильних іменників множини: people –> people‘s.
Example
Singular:
- This is my sister‘s room (one sister).
- You can find my friend‘s number here (one friend).
Plural:
- This is my sisters’ room (two sisters or more).
- You can find my friends’ numbers here (two friends or more).
Irregular plural:
- These children‘s mobile phones are missing (two children or more).
- She took these women‘s phone numbers (two women or more).
Use
Possessive Case використовується, для вираження речей, що належать людині або тварині. Ми навіть можемо вживати його, щоб показати, що одна річ належить до іншої речі.
Summary
Possessive Case вживається для вираження речей які належать людині або тварині.
Щоб показати це наочно, ми додамо апостроф і (-‘s) для іменників однини, апостроф (‘) для правильних іменників множини і апостроф і (-s’) неправильних іменників множини.
Наприклад:
— “The cat‘s ball is on the sofa.” = Cat є одниною тож ми додаємо (-‘s). (The ball belongs to one cat).
— “The cats‘ ball is on the sofa.” = Cats є множиною тож ми додаємо (‘). (The ball belongs to more than one cat).
— “The children‘s ball is on the sofa.” = Children є неправильною формою множини тож ми додаємо (-‘s).
