Introduction
To be used to es una estructura utilizada para expresar hábitos y costumbres que nos son familiares.
Cuando se expresa en su forma afirmativa, el verbo confirma que el sujeto tiene ciertas costumbres.
Form
To be used to, en su forma afirmativa, tiene esta estructura:
Subject + to be + used to + [verb + -ing]/pronoun/noun phrase + …
- Las abreviaciones del afirmativo son iguales a las del verbo to be: I’m – you’re – he’s…

Example
- They‘re used to working in a big, modern city.
- I have had long hair since I was a child so I‘m used to it now.
- He is used to the noise of the washing machine.

NOTA: No lo confundas con to use to, que solo puede aparecer en oraciones que ya son en el tiempo pasado.
Por ejemplo:
— «You are used to having breakfast early in the morning.» = Usamos to be used to para expresar una acción a que el sujeto es acostumbrado ahora.
♦ «You used to have breakfast early in the morning.»= Usamos to use to para expresar una acción que pasó en el pasado, pero ya no pasa.
