Introduction

Adberbioak klausularen beste elementu batzuen modifikatzaile moduan funtzionatzen duten esperesioak dira. Informazio asko eman dezakete.

Frekuentzia adberbioek [adberbs of frecuency] frekuentziari buruzko informazioa emateko erabiltzen dira {ikusi Adverbs of Frequency, A1 level}.

Form

Adberbioak normalean aditz laguntzaile baten (to be/to have) atzetik jartzen dira edo beste aditz batzuen aurretik.

Frekuentzia adberbioak erabiltzen ditugu gertaera edo ekintza baten denbora deskribatzeko (zehaztugabea eta zehaztua).

Gehien erabiltzen diren frekuentzia adberbioak hurrengoak dira:

  • Frekuentzia zehaztugabeko adberbioak: now and then, seldom, occasionally, frequently, regularly, constantly…
  • Frekuentzia zehatzeko adberbioak: daily, weekly, monthly, periodically, yearly…

  • Now and then we wash.
  • I seldom go to the beach.
  • He has a flat in London now, but he still comes home occasionally.
  • I frequently have headaches.
  • She exercises regularly.
  • They constantly wear a cap.

Frekuentzia zehatzeko adberbioak

  • You go running daily.
  • Martin has weekly visits from his mother.
  • We do physical exercise monthly.
  • He periodically complains about his inner ear.
  • I pay for the ambulance service yearly.

Use

Frekuentzia adberbioak (zehaztugabeak eta zehatzak) gertaera baten frekuentzia adierazteko erabiltzen dira (zenbatero/zerbait gertatzeko frekuentzia):

  • Frekuentzia zehaztugabeko adberbioak frekuentziaren ideia bat adierazteko, baina ez digu zenbatero gertatzen den informazio zehatza ematen.
  • Frekuentzia zehatzeko adberbioak zehatz, zenbatero zerbait gertatzen den adierazteko.

Adibidez:
— “I seldom go to the gym.” = (I) subjektua gimnasiora doa batzutan.
— “I’m periodically going to the gym.” = (I) subjektua gimnasiora joan ohi da.

Adverbs of frequency are usually positioned after to be or to have. It is used to describe the frequency of an event (indefinite and definite).

In English, you can describe intensity of verbs with Adverbs of degree, time of verbs with Adverbs of time, way of verbs (how) with Adverbs of manner, place of verbs with Adverbs of place.
