Introduction

Preposizioak elementuak esaldi batean konektatzen dituzten hitz txikiak dira. Ezinbestekoak dira detaile gehigarriak esaldiari buruz ematen digutelako.

Denbora preposizioak gertaera bat denbora marko batean kokatzeko erabiltzen ditugu {ikusi Common Prepositions, A1 level}.

Form

Denbora preposizioak ez doaz bakarrik, esaldiaren beste elementuekin doaz perpaus preposizionalak deitzen ditugun egiturak eratzeko: at, on, in eta by.

Example

At

  • Everyday at 7.00 clock I can see the stars.
  • He is going to the forest at Easter.
  • At weekends we take the dogs for a walk.

On

  • On Sundays, I usually relax with my friends by going to the coast.
  • She was born on the 1st of September in 1997.
  • The island sank on Sunday morning.

In

  • I always travel to famous forests in Finland in November.
  • In autumn it always rains.
  • In the evening the horses started to run.

By

  • Please, send me those tickets by Monday.
  • She has to finish her world map by next week.
  • Is Maria still in the garden? Yes, she will be back by evening.

Use

Denbora preposizioak gertaera bat momentu edo periodo espezifiko batean kokatzeko erabiltzen dira.

At

  • Denbora zehatzetan (the moment, sunrise, noon, night, midnight, hours);
  • Oporraren saio zehatzetan (Christmas*, Easter…);
  • Weekend*.

On

  • Astearen egunak (Monday, Saturday, Wednesday…);
  • Datak;
  • Egunaren zati zehatza (on Sunday morning).

In

  • Hilabeteak, urteak, mendeak;
  • Urtaroak;
  • Goiza, arratsaldea, gaua.

By

  • Time-limited actions;
  • Projects with deadline;
  • Time of someone’s return.

*Ingeles amerikanoan on aurkitu dezakezu at-en ordez.

Denbora preposizioak gertaera bat contestuaren debora batean kokatzeko erabiltzen dira.

Denbora preposizio nagusiak hurrengoak dira: at, on, in eta by.

Adibidez:
— “I will go to my grandparents’ house at Christmas.” = at erailtzen dugu oporretako aldu bereziei buruz hitz egiteko.
— “I will go to my grandparents’ house on25th of December.” = on erabiltzen dugu datetan.
— “I will go to my grandparents’ house in December.” = in erabiltzen dugu hilabeteez hitz egiteko.
— “I will return from my grandparents’ house by December.” = by erabiltzen dugu norbait itzultzeko garaiari buruz hitz egiteko.
