Introduction

Preposizioak elementuak esaldi batean konektatzen dituzten hitz txikiak dira. Ezinbestekoak dira detaile gehigarriak esaldiari buruz ematen digutelako.

Metodo eta modu preposizioak zein modutan zerbait eginda dagoen azaltzen du.

Form

Modu preposizio nagusiak hurrengoak dira:

  • by: by + [aditza + -ing]/substantiboa
  • with: with + substantiboa

Example

By

  • She lost 2 kilograms by being vegetarian.
  • He cooked the Japanese food by traditional methods.

With

  • He asked for the menu with haste.
  • They cut the onion with a knife.

Use

Metodo eta modu preposizioak gauzak zelan egiten ditugun adierazteko erabiltzen ditugu:

  • by emaitza lortzeko egiten dugun ekintza adierazten du;
  • with ekintzan zehar eta emaitza lortzeko erabiltzen dugun modua edo objektuak erakusten dizkigu.

Metodo eta modu preposizio nagusiak hurrengoak dira:

  • By: ekintzak adierazteko eta gerundioarekin doa (aditza + -ing) edo substantibo batekin.
  • With: zerbait lortzeko erabiltzen dugun objektu edo tresnetarako, eta normalean substantiboekin doa.

Adibidez:
— “We can handle the situation by talking.” = by erabiltzen dugu egiten dugun ekintza bat adierazteko.
— “We can handle the situation with patience.” = with erabiltzen dugu gure modua ekintzan zehar erakusteko.
