Introduction
Preposizioak elementuak esaldi batean konektatzen dituzten hitz txikiak dira. Ezinbestekoak dira detaile gehigarriak esaldiari buruz ematen digutelako.
Leku preposizioak gertaera bat leku marko batean kokatzeko erabiltzen ditugu {ikusi Common Prepositions, A1 level}.
Form
Leku preposizioa ez doaz bakarrik, esaldiaren beste elementuekin doaz perpaus preposizionalak deitzen ditugun egiturak eratzeko: at, on, in eta by.

- I am waiting at the zoo for you.
- He was at the game when it was snowing.
- They love being at home with their dog.
On
- You put many posters on the walls.
- There was a rose on the way home.
- We are not allowed to smoke on the bus.
In
- You can find wonderful paintings in this church.
- There is a wild animal in that forest.
- They lived in Canada for 10 years.
By
- His dog is always walking by his side.
- The house is by the swimming pool.
- They are talking by the exhibition.
Use
Leku preposizioak zerbaiten edo norbaiten kokapena adierazteko erabiltzen ditugu.
Gehien erabiltzen direnak hurrengoak dira:
At
(generala, leku handiagoez hitz egiteko)
- Puntu batek kokapen zehatza (at the bus stop…);
- Talde ekintzen izenen aurretik (at the party, at the match…);
- Hitz hauekin: home, work, school, university, the top, the bottom…
On
(zehatzagoak, leku txikiagoei hitz egiteko)
- Posizioa gainazal batean (on the floor…);
- Norabidearen jarraipena (on the path, on the way, on the river…);
- Garraio publikoak;
- Norabidea (the right eta the left…)
In
(oso zehatzak, leku txikienez hitz egiteko)
- Leku handietan posizioa;
- Hiru dimentsiodun espazioak eta alde guztietatik inguratutako eremuak (in a forest, in the office…);
- Kontinenteak, estatuak, herrialdeak, eraikinak…
By
- Norbaiten edo zerbaiten ezkerrean edo eskuman;
- Norbaiten edo zerbaiten ondoan;
- Distantzian ez oso urruti (hurbil).
Summary
Leku preposizioak gertaera bat contestuaren leku marko batean kokatzeko erabiltzen dira.
Leku preposizio nagusiak hurrengoak dira: at, on, in eta by.
Adibidez:
— “I work at home today.” = at erabiltzen dugu puntu edo leku espazifiko batez hitz egiteko.
— “I work on the left of the corner.” = on erabiltzen dugu norabideari buruz hitz egiteko.
— “I work in this building.” = in erabiltzen dugu 3 dimentsiodun leku betean kokapenari buruz hitz egiteko.
— “I work by this building.” = by erabiltzen dugu leku bat beste batetik hurbil dagoela adierazteko.
