Introduction

Preposizioak elementuak esaldi batean konektatzen dituzten hitz txikiak dira. Ezinbestekoak dira detaile gehigarriak esaldiari buruz ematen digutelako.

Jabetza preposizioak zerbait pertsona, animalia edo gauza batena dela adierazteko erabiltzen dira.

Form

Jabetza adierazteko erabiltzen diren preposizioak hurrengoak dira:

  • of: of + substantiboak/izenordain posesiboak;
  • to: to + objektu izenordaina;
  • with: with + adjektiboak/substantiboak.

Example

Of

  • These are the most important monuments of London.
  • Dublin is the capital of Ireland.
  • She is a friend of mine.

To

  • This towel belongs to me.

With

  • I saw a boy with brown eyes.
  • She spoke with a German accent.
  • The girl with the black hat.

Use

Jabetza preposizioak jabetza harremana nabarmentzeko erabiltzen da:

  • of herrialdeekin, hiriekin, jendearekin, izenordain posesiboekin erabiltzen da;
  • to jabetza adierazteko erabiltzen da (belong to);
  • with ezaugarri fisikoekin, azentuekin, objektu/material/animaliekin.

Summary

Jabetza preposizioak zerbait pertsona, animalia edo gauza batena dela adierazteko erabiltzen dira. Ez dago araurik gai honi buruz, beraz buruz ikasi behar dira.

Jabetza preposizio nagusiak hurrengoak dira: of, to eta with.

Adibidez:
— “She is the girl of his dreams.” = of erabiltzen dugu jabetza adierazteko.
— “She is the girl with the piercing.” = with norbaiten ezaugarri fisikoei buruz hitz egiteko erabiltzen dugu.
— “She is the girl that belongs to your team.” = belong to erabiltzen dugu pertenentzia adierazteko.
